Build a power distribution package from project inputs

A solution page groups common equipment by application, but the final package must come from the network, load and operating philosophy. The engineering sequence below helps prevent transformer, switchgear and protection selections from being made in isolation. The first review should also identify interfaces owned by the EPC contractor, utility and end user.

Define the duty

Start with source voltage, frequency, fault level, load schedule, starting currents, harmonic loads, future growth and the acceptable interruption for each load group.

Coordinate the architecture

Map normal, maintenance and fault paths. Then coordinate transformer rating and impedance with MV switchgear, LV boards, protection, metering, cables, auxiliary power and control interfaces.

Close evidence and delivery

Agree drawings, guaranteed values, routine or special tests, FAT witness points, packing, transport dimensions, spare parts and final documentation before releasing equipment for manufacture.
