What is a Low Voltage Switchgear?

Low voltage switchgear is electrical equipment for distributing and controlling power at utilization voltage levels (400V, 690V). It combines circuit breakers, contactors, overload relays, meters, and control devices in a coordinated assembly. Power distribution panels (GGD series) provide main incoming and outgoing feeders with air circuit breakers (ACB) and moulded case circuit breakers (MCCB). Motor control centers (MCC) add contactors and overload protection for motor starting and control. Ziyao Power manufactures GCS withdrawable switchgear, MNS modular system, and GGD fixed panel series. All comply with IEC 61439 low voltage switchgear standard and are type-tested for short circuit withstand up to 100kA.

Key Features

  • Type-tested to IEC 61439-1 and IEC 61439-2
  • Air circuit breakers (ACB) for main incomers up to 6300A
  • Moulded case circuit breakers (MCCB) for feeders
  • Drawout/withdrawable construction for maintenance
  • Compartmentalized design for safety
  • Metering compartment with CT/VT
  • Power factor correction capacitor bank option
  • Busbar system up to 100kA short time withstand
  • Front or front-rear cable entry

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between GCS and GGD?

GCS is withdrawable switchgear where circuit breakers can be drawn out for maintenance without de-energizing the entire panel. GGD is fixed panel design where breakers are bolted in place. GCS is preferred for critical installations requiring maintenance flexibility.
